About the role

We are looking for top 1% of full-stack engineers to join us in one of our 2 teams: Discovery and Flow.

Responsibilities

  • Build the intelligence layer behind Harmonic, transforming hundreds of fragmented, unstructured sources into structured knowledge about startups, investors, and people.
  • Own the entire pipeline from large-scale data ingestion to the full-stack search and research experience that surfaces breakout companies before anyone else.
  • Develop an agentic research system that allows VCs to explore the startup ecosystem through natural language and structured queries, enabling faster sourcing, deeper diligence, and new workflows for discovering breakout companies.
  • Built Harmonic’s deal management system, Flow, making it the most intuitive and performant way to source, research, and triage opportunities in one place.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
  • A record of shipping high-quality products.
  • Experience quickly turning ambiguity into clarity, building scalable, performant, and observably frontend and backend systems from first principles while balancing technical, product, and organizational tradeoffs.
  • An interest in venture capital and the startup ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of full-stack technologies including databases, web frameworks, and microservices.
  • Experience with data processing and machine learning.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.

Pay

$180k - $220k salary + equity, depending on the level.
