Senior Software Engineer, Data Services

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Data Services to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will focus on building and operating high-scale data services that ingest, process, and serve complex datasets with strong reliability and consistency. You will partner closely with product and engineering stakeholders to improve data freshness, performance, observability, and API capabilities across multiple environments. The work requires strong systems thinking, careful handling of historical data changes, and a practical approach to production support and cost efficiency. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000 annually Responsibilities Build and manage data ingestion, indexing, and API systems. Ensure data integrity during reorganizations and historical backfills. Enhance query performance and data freshness, making metrics observable. Expand API capabilities and ensure compatibility across different chains. Develop streaming and event delivery systems with reliability guarantees. Optimize data storage and processing costs through architectural improvements. Support production systems, maintaining monitoring and incident response protocols. Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in backend or distributed data systems design and operation. Proficient in a production backend programming language and database management. Strong understanding of data consistency, partitioning, and asynchronous processing. Ability to diagnose and resolve production issues effectively. Solid API design skills, focusing on compatibility and error handling. Excellent communication skills for translating customer needs into engineering projects.
