Virtuous is a high-growth SaaS company dedicated to empowering nonprofits with modern software solutions. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build and scale our CRM+ platform.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain features across our CRM+ platform using C#, .NET, and SQL Server
- Architect and operate services on Azure, focusing on scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency
- Partner with Product and Design to shape requirements, bringing a customer-first perspective to technical tradeoffs
- Use AI tools, especially Claude Code, as a core part of your daily workflow for prototyping, code generation, testing, debugging, documentation, and accelerating delivery
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and unit tests, participating actively in the code review process
- Mentor and pair program other engineers, helping to raise the bar for engineering practices across the team
- Influence best practice patterns for QA, CICD, and product architecture
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a sense of urgency and ownership
- Contribute to technical strategy and help evolve our architecture as the platform scales
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with deep expertise in C#/.NET
- 3+ years of experience with Vue; React or Angular experience transfers well
- Strong experience building and operating production systems on Azure
- Solid experience with SQL Server - schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted development. Hands-on experience using Claude Code as part of your engineering workflow
- A customer-first, product-minded approach to engineering. You ask "how could this feature be better?" as often as "how do we build this feature?"
- Passion for contributing to customer discovery conversations, root cause analyses (RCAs), and occasional customer demos
- Experience working on CRM or data-intensive platforms is a strong plus
- Experience working with Datadog, Playwright, and other observability and testing tools is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Customer Success
- A track record of owning projects end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring
Qualifications
