Senior Software Engineer, Content Platform

About the role

The Senior Software Engineer on Marketing Technology’s Content Platform team will lead the development of a no-code or low-code platform to manage marketing content across various channels. This includes web frontends, GraphQL API gateway, and storage layers. The role involves optimizing user experience, ensuring system availability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional partners to design and deliver high-quality marketing products across multiple channels.
• Lead efforts to architect and build technology for serving marketing content to guests and hosts across Airbnb’s stack.
• Make heavy use of the DevAI stack to explore, build, and verify work.
• Optimize user experience by improving rendering layer performance or data fetching strategies in the backend.
• Work with customers to identify and fix usability issues.
• Build relationships with engineers in product orgs and partner with them to support company-wide initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in a hands-on software engineering role.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience leading project teams, setting technical direction, and mentoring engineers.
• Demonstrated comfort in working in a full-stack environment.
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality.
• Pleasant to work with and foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
• Proven experience in defining product strategy and helping drive alignment with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders.
