Senior Software Engineer - Backend Developer & Cloud/AI Specialty
Responsibilities
- Work independently as a contributor to software development team.
- Exhibit expertise in:
- Agile software development
- Proficiency in Java and Python
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable client and server side applications
- Modern software engineering practices for modular and extensible solutions
- Software integrations with commercial software tools, cloud services, databases, and external APIs
- Cloud and Information Technology principals including cloud based architectures, database architectures, and data sharing protocols
- AI/MLOps - Model Containerization and deployment, pipeline automations
- Demonstrate a general understanding, or interest in gaining expertise in:
- Systems Engineering processes, methods, and tools as applied to systems lifecycles
- Digital Engineering methodologies and tooling
- Collaborate with a software development team working in an agile workflow.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Specification, architecting, and development of client, server, and cloud based software including AI/ML applications and pipelines
- Designing, developing, and deploying advanced applications in cloud and AI technology
- Integration of software with commercial and cloud-based software through REST or Open APIs
- Development of pipelines for software builds
- Occasionally, customer-facing demonstrations of software technology
- Occasional additional duties as assigned.
- BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5 in an Engineering Discipline
- Software Engineering- Java, Python
- Cloud Architecture and Solutions
- Database and Web Database Administration and Integration
- AI/MLOps - (Azure and/or AWS AI Services, Pydantic or other AI)
- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance
- Preferred Experience: Cloud Security and Compliance, Pipeline development/management (GitLab, Azure DevOps), Software application design and development, Linux based software development

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
