About the role

The Senior Software Engineer role is based in Austin, Texas, alongside the rest of the team. You'll join a dynamic, collaborative environment where ownership leads to greater ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Own meaningful, highly visible work in Cisco IQ, a key product for Cisco's Customer Experience flagship.
  • Collaborate with technical leaders and principal engineers to design and build large-scale software systems using Python and/or Java.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical initiatives across engineering teams.
  • Deploy custom-built agents to production environments on cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Work closely with product, architecture, and other engineering teams to ensure the successful deployment of AI-driven features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, with 6+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience in QA, testing, and debugging in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of Linux, networking concepts, OS fundamentals, and/or embedded development.
  • Experience with databases, backend web application development, and web services.
  • Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML development, frameworks, and integrating AI-driven features into production systems.

Benefits

This role offers competitive compensation, including a starting salary range of $139,300.00 to $203,600.00, subject to location and individual performance. Pay

The starting salary range for this role is $139,300.00 to $203,600.00, reflecting the projected salary range for new hires in U.S. and Canadian locations. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, and other factors.
