Senior Software Engineer - Backend
Job Summary
We are seeking a back-end focused, Senior Software Engineer to join our cross-dock WMS team. This role focuses on the core, foundational pieces of our "Shelf" platform, which powers our warehouse operations.
What is a Day in the Life?
- Develop and maintain foundational components of our "Shelf" platform, an internal system that manages all aspects of warehouse inventory and fulfillment.
- Work with a team of front end and back end engineers and operational leaders to understand and build solutions for new projects.
- Dedicate time to "hardening" the software, proactively fixing root causes of recurring issues during your on-call rotation.
- Tackle a wide range of backend challenges to maintain and improve the system's scalability and stability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in a modern backend language like Ruby, Node.js, Java, Python, or Go.
- SQL expertise is a must, with experience in databases like PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in AWS.
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus but not required.

The Team
- You will work under the supervision of a Principal Software Engineer, collaborating with a team of front-end and back-end engineers based in the US.
- The team follows a hybrid work schedule; Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office, and work from home on Tuesday and Friday.
