Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Visionist is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a fully funded opportunity on a large prime contract. The role involves working on innovative projects that enhance mission capabilities and directly impacts the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities

• Automate and provision infrastructure to support mission-critical customer requirements
• Identify and resolve development and deployment inefficiencies to improve system performance
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot applications in a mixed-stack environment using Python and Java (Spring Boot)
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, debugging, and software delivery
• Drive process improvements and system optimizations with a high degree of autonomy

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
• (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
• 12 years of experience in software development
• Experience developing production applications in Python and/or Java (Spring Boot)
• Proven ability to work independently and drive technical solutions from identification through implementation
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering workflows
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on infrastructure automation and process optimization
• Familiarity with Git for version control

• Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) Clearance with Polygraph
