Senior Software Engineer

Join the team redefining defense technology. From engineering systems that save lives to leading programs that change the battlefield, you will work on designing and developing new cutting-edge technologies providing command and control, situational awareness, and a single integrated air picture, enabling a "shoot first" capability for the warfighter. This position may be worked in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Complete the design, development, and deployment of software programs with minimal oversight.
• Analyze and resolve issues identified during customer testing and scenario runs.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions and the design of complex systems.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with other teams to meet project goals.
• Evaluate and implement best practices to improve software quality and efficiency.
• Act independently with minimal guidance, and may act as project manager or formal mentor for junior staff.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance to access facilities required to perform work.
• 5-15 years of experience with exceptional expertise in C/C++ programming.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field. Candidates without a degree but with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Desired Skills

• Prior experience in Air and Missile Defense Systems.
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, algorithm design, and data structures.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems and associated software development kits.
• Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-sized software development projects.
• Experience in Python, YAML, Bash, and ADA.
