Senior Software Engineer

About the role

You will build, manage, and enhance shopper payments systems and compliance services powered by Geo spatial foundation capabilities. Every day you will work on a team of 5-6 engineers to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain application code using Golang, Python, Redis, Postgres, and Kafka in a microservices architecture. You will work with our product and operation teams to solve different challenges in market clearance, supply chain, pricing platform, and any new ventures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend REST API services with a strong focus on performance and latency.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow engineers, product managers, and partner teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Diagnose and solve complex technical problems and performance bottlenecks using data.
• Take ownership of production services, ensuring their reliability and performance, and participate in on-call production support rotation.
• Optimize backend systems for latency, performance, and scalability.
• Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) into applications and ensure secure interaction with backend services.
• Implement tools for AI models to interact with backend services, providing the necessary context.
• Familiarize yourself with orchestration concepts (Google’s ADK, Vercel AI SDK, or custom orchestration).

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with a programming language like Golang (preferred), Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Experience designing, developing, testing (unit/integration/etc.), deploying, and maintaining backend REST API services.
• Comfortable working with SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
• Active participation in the design process to build efficient, scalable, and maintainable architecture.
• Experience diagnosing and solving complex technical problems and performance bottlenecks using data.
• Self-driven and outcome-oriented, willing to own production services and participate in on-call support.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining systems that integrate with third-party services.
• Optimized backend systems for latency, performance, and scalability.
• Geo-spatial experience or foundation platform building experience (nice-to-have).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Go Programming Language, Microservices Architecture.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with database literacy (writing SQL queries and interacting with relational databases).
• Experience with engineering best practices (Git version control, CI/CD basics, writing unit tests).
• Geo-spatial experience or foundation platform building experience.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $95,800 - $170,000, with individual total compensation varying based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
