Role Summary
This role combines hands-on backend engineering with ownership of the Benefits module in the US PT zone. The engineer will act as the first line of deep technical support, triaging production issues, debugging across services, and coordinating with India teams for fixes and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own backend architecture, stability, and support for the Benefits module
- Act as local module lead for US timezone operations
- Perform deep debugging using logs, code analysis, and system behavior
- Identify root causes of production issues and drive resolution
- Develop and deploy small hotfixes with alignment from India teams
- Collaborate with PSM, Product Support, CSMs, and Sales for issue triage
- Improve observability, logging, and system reliability
- Participate in on-call / high-priority incident handling
- Mentor junior engineers and guide technical decisions locally
Required Skills
- Strong backend development experience (Java / Python / Node.js or similar)
- Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Expertise in debugging production issues (logs, tracing, DB queries)
- Solid understanding of databases (SQL/Mongo DB)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release processes
- Ability to work across time zones with offshore teams
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Benefits domain or HRTech systems
- Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Cloud-watch, etc.)
- Prior experience in production support-heavy environments
