Senior Software Engineer (Python)Location: Alpharetta, GA, Atlanta, GA, OR Boca Raton, FLDuration: 6-12 Month ContractOverviewWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Python development expertise to support ongoing application enhancements, production issue resolution, and backend service development. This is a hands-on contract opportunity for someone who excels at troubleshooting complex systems, identifying root causes, and delivering reliable software improvements in fast-paced environments.This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys working within existing codebases, resolving critical defects, and contributing practical solutions that improve application stability and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, enhance, and maintain Python-based applications and servicesTroubleshoot and resolve production and non-production issuesAnalyze application failures, identify root causes, and implement effective fixesSupport REST API development, maintenance, and troubleshootingDeliver bug fixes, enhancements, and small feature improvementsCollaborate with technical teams to understand requirements and resolve issuesReview logs, diagnose system failures, and improve application stabilityInvestigate and resolve database-related issues across SQL and NoSQL environmentsContribute to code quality, maintainability, and system reliability initiatives Required Qualifications3-7 years of hands-on Python development experienceProven experience debugging and troubleshooting production applicationsExperience working with Python web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or DjangoStrong understanding of REST APIs and backend servicesExperience with SQL and/or NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with Linux/Unix environmentsExperience using Git and version control best practicesAbility to quickly understand existing applications and contribute effectivelyStrong analytical and problem-solving skills•Preferred QualificationsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPFamiliarity with logging and monitoring toolsExperience working within Agile development environmentsExposure to Docker or containerized applications Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
