Red Arch Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our program in Fort Meade, Maryland.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university; four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for the degree
- Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Experience in engineering systems over their lifecycle (conception, design & development, testing, production, distribution/deployment, operation, maintenance & support, decommissioning)
- Software engineering experience with the following technologies:
- Java SE, Python, Git, Shell/bash, Nexus, Maven
- JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3, JUnit, and IDEs
- Experience with software architecture development, requirements analysis, code generation, process execution and evaluation, and selection/evaluation of software engineering tools
- Highly desired experience with containers and container orchestration (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift and GitLab CI), including:
- Microservices and microservice orchestration
- CI/CD pipelines
- Integration of automated testing tools like SonarQube
- Implementing automated deployments and failure rollbacks
- Deployment to Kubernetes
- Experience supporting programs using an Agile development methodology, delivering a new capability in every Sprint
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- Spring Framework, Spring Tool Suite, Grit, Jenkins, Hibernate
- MySQL, Web Services, Google Web Toolkit, or Vaadin
Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
- Write or review software and system documentation
- Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process
- Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
- Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
- Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
- Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers, analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes
- Investigate problem areas and modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance
- Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes
- Design or implement complex algorithms requiring strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints
- Perform quality control on team products
- Oversee one or more software development teams to ensure work aligns with software development process constraints
- Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain project information
- Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
Pay
Salary range for this position: $210,000 – $232,000.
