About the role

The Senior Software Engineer will develop dynamic services for MGMA members and internal staff using full-stack C# .NET to build n-tier web applications and services in an Agile, iterative development environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop the Association’s web and software applications.
• Analyze business needs to create functional and effective applications for MGMA members and internal business users.
• Research and identify technical requirements.
• Develop new feature requests and maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot existing applications and web services.
• Implement software solutions using in-house software platforms and custom software libraries.
• Work within system architecture and defined structures and standards.
• Develop code within established processes and standards.
• Manage and own assigned projects effectively and efficiently.
• Occasionally supervise consultants and third-party solution vendors.
• Share business or technical information with colleagues.
• Assist and mentor other developers.
• Perform other duties as required to ensure organizational success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
• Five or more years of experience as a software developer.
• Three or more years of experience with C# or similar language.
• Three or more years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server or similar database server.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Skills

• Strong understanding of the .NET Framework, including Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, WCF, ADO.NET, Entity Framework, and MS SQL.
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of commonly used software patterns.
• Experience with modern web frameworks such as Blazor, React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience with MVC, Web API, or ODATA.
• Experience with .NET testing frameworks, such as NUnit or MSTest.
• Experience designing and working with n-tier architectures.
• Experience with source control systems.
• Follows SOLID principles and OWASP standards.
• Ability to translate user and business requirements into appropriate technology solutions.
• Ability to develop technical specification documentation.
• Results-oriented, motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency.
• Team player who can establish excellent working relationships with peers and other teams.
• Ability to lead and mentor peers and less experienced software developers in a patient and instructional fashion.

Pay

Approximate salary range: $115,000–$140,000, depending on skills, education, and experience.

Schedule

Hybrid work schedule (Denver-based). Regular attendance at conferences and MGMA events across the United States.
