Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ship modernization work at a pace that surprises people
• Use AI agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) to upgrade legacy services, refactor code, extract APIs, and generate test scaffolding
• Build reusable playbooks and clear "definition of done" standards for AI-assisted changes
• Modernize a real .NET + SQL Server stack into a robust, maintainable system
• Work with real humans to ship things that matter, ensuring solutions solve business problems effectively

Requirements

• 5+ years building and shipping production systems
• Strong C# and modern .NET experience, especially in large codebases and meaningful refactoring/migration work
• Expertise in SQL Server, including schema design, query tuning, and performance troubleshooting
• Cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS, particularly Azure
• API design experience, including service-oriented architectures with real versioning, authentication, reliability, and testing practices
• Experience using AI coding tools as a daily driver, such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex
• Background in regulated domains (healthcare, fintech, payments)

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• Experience with distributed systems tooling, such as Kafka, event-driven architectures, or working with Postgres alongside SQL Server
• Front-end experience with Angular and/or React/Next.js
• Experience establishing agent-friendly engineering practices, such as writing repo instructions for AI tools, breaking work into agent-sized tasks, setting up CI guardrails for AI-generated code, feature flags, and canary deployments

Skills

• Strong understanding of security and privacy best practices in healthcare
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-moving teams

Pay

The US base salary range for this full-time position is: $125,241.00 - $187,862.00
