Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Job Spread, you will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and systems that support our talent-matching platform. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. The role is full-time and on-site in California, United States.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, well-structured code and perform code reviews.
• Optimize application performance and ensure system reliability and security.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor other engineers.
• Improve development practices, tooling, and workflows across the team.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and document technical solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Proficiency in software development and programming, with experience building production-grade applications.
• Hands-on experience in back-end web development, including working with APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to apply OOP concepts to complex systems.
• Experience with modern development tools (e.g., version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing).
• Ability to write maintainable, testable code and perform thorough code reviews.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in an on-site, collaborative team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in scaling distributed systems and working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
