Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
Homeland Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading Education Technology company serving millions of students, educators, and administrators across North America. Our client is building a dedicated AI Technology Transformation Team focused on modernizing enterprise applications, accelerating software delivery, and driving strategic technology initiatives across a diverse software portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to help transform legacy applications through cloud modernization, large-scale refactoring, AI-assisted development, service modernization, and TypeScript-based engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute enterprise application modernization and transformation initiatives
- Design, develop, and enhance cloud-native applications, services, and software components
- Participate in large-scale refactoring, migration, and modernization projects
- Collaborate with senior engineering leaders on strategic technology initiatives and architectural improvements
- Build automation, tools, and processes that improve engineering productivity and delivery speed
- Contribute to technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and best practice development
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows throughout the software development lifecycle
- Develop, test, implement, and support scalable, high-quality software solutions
- Drive improvements in application performance, reliability, maintainability, and scalability
- Continuously advance engineering efficiency through modern development practices and emerging technologies
Requirements
- 5–10 years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience working within enterprise software environments
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and coding ability
- Experience supporting complex software applications and codebases
- Exposure to modernization, refactoring, or migration initiatives
- Experience with cloud-native application development
- Hands-on development experience within AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Additional Information
This is a hybrid role, working remotely Monday and Friday, and onsite Tuesday-Thursday. Benefits include an annual salary of $150,000–$175,000, based on experience, along with eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
