About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer you will develop, evaluate, and support desktop software products for MicroStrain’s line of inertial sensing devices—IMUs and GNSS/INS systems. In a small, collaborative team you will shape the next-generation architecture while maintaining the existing SensorConnect desktop application. The software team works across embedded C++ SDKs, CMake-based desktop applications, and ROS drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate desktop software for inertial sensing devices
  • Define the architecture of next-generation inertial desktop tooling
  • Maintain and support the SensorConnect desktop application

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software, Computer, or related engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, test, and integration
  • Strong proficiency in C++ software development
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CMake-based build systems
  • Ability to evaluate and make architectural decisions in ambiguous, research-oriented contexts
  • Experience with version control

Skills

  • ROS (Robot Operating System)
  • Inertial sensors or sensing systems domain knowledge
  • TypeScript and/or JavaScript
  • Python
  • OpenDAQ or similar data-acquisition frameworks
  • Scrum/task-management applications (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience maintaining and extending legacy desktop applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Git/GitHub

Pay

$95,000 to $120,000 annually plus a 10% yearly bonus.
