Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java-based Apache Flink streaming applications.
- Build scalable, event-driven data pipelines using Kafka/MSK.
- Develop Spring Boot microservices along with REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Implement fault-tolerant streaming applications utilizing Flink state management, checkpointing, and recovery capabilities.
- Deploy, monitor, and support cloud-native applications using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Managed Service for Apache Flink (MSF), and AWS MSK.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, performance optimization, and production readiness planning.
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and enhance application observability through logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Java 8 or Java 11+
- 3+ years developing production streaming applications using Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, Spark Streaming, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Apache Flink (DataStream API, state management, checkpointing, fault tolerance)
- Apache Kafka or AWS MSK
- Spring Boot microservices
- RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
- Experience deploying applications using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with schema management using Avro, Protobuf, JSON, or Schema Registry.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, automated testing, and deployment automation.
- Strong understanding of application monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and production support.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Managed Service for Apache Flink (MSF)
- AWS MSK
- GraphQL / Apollo GraphQL
- Flink SQL
- Kafka Streams or similar stream-processing frameworks
- Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar monitoring tools
- API and cloud security best practices
- Experience with SaaS or multi-tenant platforms
- Experience supporting high-volume, low-latency systems
- Background in airline, transportation, logistics, or other mission-critical operational environments

Monday-Friday, Standard Business Hours (Flexible schedules available such as 7:00-15:00, 8:00-16:00, or 9:00-17:00)
6-Month Contract (Extension Possible)
