Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Everfox is hiring for a hybrid Senior Software Engineer role in Richardson, TX. The position requires working on-site several days each week (typically 2-3 days), with specific days set by the manager. Regular in-person collaboration is essential, so candidates must live within about 50 miles of the office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test new product capabilities, software development/build tools, and software test infrastructure for cross-domain products.
• Integrate new features and extensions into complex products using a variety of languages including Rust, C, C++, Java, and proprietary languages.
• Leverage standard networking concepts to support the design and implementation of Cross Domain capabilities.
• Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
• Provide technical briefings to customers and Everfox leadership as required.

Requirements

• Direct experience with Link16, JREAP-C, TADIL-J, USMTF, VMF and related standards and protocols.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Security or equivalent 12+ years of experience in software engineering, system engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience with software development in Linux environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Go, C/C++, and/or bash.
• Hands-on experience implementing TCP/IP networking & related protocols (such as HTTP, SSH, IPSEC, TLS/SSL, etc).
• Robust understanding of private and public keys and/or certificates.
• Experience with version control technologies such as Git.
• Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora, or Ubuntu Linux operating systems.
• Ability to obtain US Government Security Clearance if needed.

Key Experience and Education

• Experience with security design and architecture of Cross Domain solutions (CDS).
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or OpenCode.
• Agile or Scrum development experience.
• Experience with deploying cloud technologies such as MS Azure or AWS.
• Development experience in a distributed, parallel, or clustered processing environment.
• Experience with virtual desktop redisplay technologies such as RDP, Citrix Receiver, or VMware Horizon View.

Pay and Benefits

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $142,600.00 - $197,100.00 USD. The actual salary offered may vary based on experience, locale, and business needs. Additional benefits include flexible PTO, a 401(k) match, and contributions to healthcare coverages.
