Senior Software Engineer
About the role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital Product team. This role offers a unique opportunity to build innovative digital experiences for policyholders while working within a stable, established carrier.
Responsibilities
- Writes code, documents, and contributes to policy standards
- Understands and applies design patterns to ensure code is readable, testable, and maintainable
- Works with the team to improve testing approaches and quality metrics
- Drives monitoring and performance improvements for the team's services
- Owns the technical aspects of the product and its underlying infrastructure
- Anticipates future use cases and designs services/systems that scale
- Collaborates with the security team to enhance security practices
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and effective communication
- Communicates project risks and dependencies to stakeholders
- Mentors junior engineers and other teams as needed
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science with 2 years of experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 4 years of experience, or
- 6 years of relevant experience

- Experience as a front-end specialist or strong service-oriented architecture skills
- Ability to balance speed to change now with flexibility to change later
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Advanced technical knowledge of complex software systems
