Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain custom software products for medium and high throughput automated research systems.
• Own software design and implementation for new product development, collaborating cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and application scientists.
• Partner with scientists and lab automation engineers to diagnose and resolve complex integration issues across APIs, services, and third-party devices.
• Debug system behavior across hardware/software boundaries, including timing, communication, and scheduling interactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience (3+ with a master’s degree).

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in C#/.NET (Java experience also considered).

Skills

• Experience with WPF or desktop application development.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technology (e.g. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
• Experience troubleshooting network-related issues (latency, connectivity, DNS resolution).
• Experience with hardware integrations or lab automation systems.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Schedule

This position reports to the Senior Manager, ASG Innovation and is part of the Access Solutions Group located in Indianapolis and will be an on-site role.
