Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Arrow International is the world's largest manufacturer and supplier of charitable gaming products and solutions, producing consumables (pull tab tickets, bingo paper and ink, etc.) and state‑of‑the‑art electronic gaming products sold, installed, and operated in social and gaming venues worldwide. The company is growing rapidly and seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer for its Gaming Systems Team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is integral to the development and successful launch of new server‑based electronic gaming products in the E‑Gaming Division. The position requires close, distance, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus; the work environment has a low noise level and may involve sitting for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design and develop new programs and maintain and enhance existing software
• Provide technical direction in new systems development and enhancement of existing systems
• Software Architecture
• Work with Product management to design first class server‑based gaming systems
• Participate in production support and problem resolution
• Test and debug programs for accuracy and functionality
• Participate in research and development of experimental designs and systems
• Mentoring of non‑senior development staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in the Casino/Charitable or Online Gaming industry

Skills

• Strong knowledge and experience of C# .NET
• Experience with MS SQL Server
• Experience designing complex software systems
• Strong team‑oriented interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong understanding of Object‑Oriented development techniques
• Strong analytical problem‑solving skills
• Knowledge of Visual Studio .NET development tools
• Understanding of relational databases, stored procedures, and data access methods
• Agile development experience
• Nice to have:
  • Experience with MMO, RTS, MOBA or PVP gaming systems
  • Experience in systems designed for large numbers of users
  • Microsoft development certifications
  • Experience with installation packages
  • Experience with service‑oriented architecture
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket (Atlassian suite)
  • Git expertise
