About the role

The Senior Software Engineer for the Android Platform at Google Beam will focus on developing innovative communication technologies that enhance user interactions. Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code to control Beam custom hardware peripherals.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content based on product updates.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug by analyzing the sources of issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages such as C++, Java, or Kotlin.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 2 years of experience with the Android Platform, Android Internals, or the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
  • Experience with low-level system debugging and core operating systems concepts.
