Senior Software Engineer, Android
About the role
The Core team at Sprig is responsible for building and deploying high-performing, minimal-footprint SDKs to 1 Billion+ visitors per month and developing the dashboard experience for managing these studies. The mobile team focuses on in-product survey studies and session replay, helping researchers get feedback. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining Android SDKs alongside Flutter and React Native SDKs shipped to millions of users worldwide.
- Collaborating with customers to build great experiences for top digital-native consumer companies.
- Contributing to the product roadmap and providing guidance on engineering excellence.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of experience developing on Android platforms (bonus for experience with React Native & Flutter)
Proactively cares about startup, memory, ANRs, and main-thread discipline; uses crash analytics and logging as SDK feedback.
Comfortable owning versioning, changelogs, deprecations, and "what breaks if we change this?", treats every public interface as a contract with developers.
Translates between product, design, and web teams with concrete examples (repro steps, header values, min SDK implications).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document and explain the technical work that has been done.
