About the role

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive innovation in cancer care by integrating with academic and health system partners. Your role will involve developing and maintaining infrastructure, collaborating with various stakeholders, and scaling our partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrations with Academic and Health System Partners
  • Build, maintain, and evolve infrastructure for Academics Integrations at Flatiron
  • Manage structured and unstructured data sources
  • Collaborate with oncologists, clinicians, product leaders, quantitative scientists, and customers to understand their challenges and find solutions
  • Provide technical leadership, including shaping the direction of roadmaps and technology development
  • Devise creative solutions for technical and business challenges
  • Rapidly iterate on products while maintaining engineering practices that ensure quality and security
  • Promote technical excellence and elegant infrastructure design with teammates and customers
  • Work with complex data pipelines using a variety of data processing tools
  • Bring or develop a deep knowledge of healthcare in the US, including data sources, security requirements, and emerging trends

Requirements

You must have a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience as an experienced software engineer. A bachelor's, master's, or PhD in computer science or a related field is required. Experience with agile development environments, programming languages like Python, C++, SQL, Java, and R, and cloud platforms like AWS, data warehouse solutions like Snowflake, and ETL frameworks like DBT and Databricks is essential. Experience with machine learning, data engineering, infrastructure, devops, or security engineering is a plus. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to teach and learn.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in hospitals or Academic Medical Centers in the US
  • Experience in machine learning, data engineering, infrastructure, devops, or security engineering
  • Experience managing engineers
  • Experience developing integrations with external stakeholders and data sources
  • Experience working with Databricks, DBT, and Prefect
  • Experience collaborating with scientific stakeholders (e.g., biostatisticians, clinicians, researchers)

Pay

The salary range for this position is $152,000 - $209,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as the role's primary location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, along with a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role, offering a defined work location that includes work from home and 3 office days set by you and your team.
