About the role

The Senior Software Development Engineer, UI will join the Company Sync IT team, a critical function within the company’s operations. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of modern, scalable, and AI-enabled web applications that support business-critical operations and drive digital transformation across the enterprise. You will partner with cross-functional teams to create intuitive user experiences, build resilient cloud-native solutions, and implement best-in-class engineering practices that enhance operational efficiency and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and provide production support for critical enterprise applications used by the Digital Channels team
  • Develop and maintain devops processes for cloud infrastructure both on premises and in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Provide code reviews, training, and guidance for junior developers
  • Accurately estimate deliverable timelines
  • Translate complex business requirements into functional code
  • Write automated unit, integration, and e2e tests
  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical architectures and curate OpenAPI specs
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, business partners and vendors

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience in a professional capacity using XML, TypeScript, Spring, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS 3, Angular 15 and above, Node, APIs, and NoSQL database
  • Hands-on development and experience with AWS (preferred) or Azure Cloud Technologies
  • Design thinking, focus on Test Driven Development, embedded security
  • Experience with Containers, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Developer Workspace, DevOps, Jenkins, Code Build/Code Pipeline, API Gateways, Lambdas, DynamoDB, Nexus, GitLab, Agility, or related technologies
  • Quality-forward development practices, with automation at the forefront for continuous quality
  • Implementations using best practices for information security
  • 5+ years’ experience with Spring MVC frameworks, Eclipse, Java, JPA, JSON, JavaScript, and RESTful API/microservices
  • Solid understanding of web/mobile application architecture and security (OAuth, JWT, Spring Security)
  • Extensive experience implementing APIs (REST) via microservices
  • 3+ years of hands-on UI development experience utilizing Responsive Design
  • Proficient in Bootstrap or Foundation frameworks
  • Experience processing data via JSON
  • Diverse experience utilizing Java tools in business, Web, and client-server environments including Java Platform, J2EE, JDBC technologies, and Apigee gateway platform
  • Experience or exposure to Database Design and Implementation
  • Knowledge of Multi-tier Architecture, Rational/Visio modeling
  • Experienced with UML, JUnit, Mockito, WireMock, Unix Scripting
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile team environment
  • Strong experience building AI-native features using modern AI frameworks like Kiro
  • Demonstrated ability to handle streaming responses (SSE/WebSockets), function calling/tool integration, and asynchronous background processing for AI workflows
  • Familiarity with prompt management, dynamic context assembly, token cost optimization, and AI observability tools
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
  • High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • At least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • AWS Certifications
  • AI Prompt engineering certification
