Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Responsibilities

• Built and maintained test infrastructure, release orchestration tooling, and performance testing systems as production-grade software
• Designed and built test automation frameworks, including migration from Cypress to Playwright
• Defined the right automation framework and strategy at each layer of the testing pyramid (unit, integration, API, end-to-end)
• Maintained release orchestration tooling, managing build promotion, deployment gating, and rollback across environments
• Built observability into test frameworks and scripts, tracking flakiness, execution time, and failure patterns
• Solved challenging engineering problems, from flaky test infrastructure to AI-assisted testing tooling

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building test infrastructure, developer tooling, or release engineering systems
• Strong programming ability in JavaScript/TypeScript, designing and building backend services and tooling for test infrastructure from scratch
• Experience building or scaling CI/CD systems, release orchestration pipelines, or test infrastructure (environment management, test parallelization, execution frameworks)
• Understanding of the testing pyramid and experience choosing the right automation approach and tooling for each layer
• Experience building observability or monitoring into test frameworks, tracking flakiness, execution trends, and failure signals to drive automation reliability
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in the quality workflow, from test generation to flaky-test triage
• Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and raising the quality bar on the teams you work with
• Thrived in fast-moving engineering environments and enjoy solving hard infrastructure and tooling problems independently

Qualifications

• Technical skills: Javascript / NodeJS / Typescript, Cypress, Playwright, AI agentic framework, Unit/Integration testing: Jest, API testing: Postman / REST Assured, Performance testing framework (Locust/Gatlin/JMeter / k6), CI/CD & release orchestration (Jenkins / GitHub Actions / ArgoCD / Spinnaker/ Harness), Observability/monitoring tooling (Datadog or equivalent), Microservice architecture / Kubernetes, AWS / Google Cloud
