About the role
The Senior Software Development Engineer will join the Tax AI Production Function, a high-impact team responsible for the operational health of Tax's AI solution portfolio. This role involves taking citizen-built AI tools from development environments into production, addressing AI-specific security requirements, and building a reusable pattern library.
Responsibilities
- Review architectures with original builders
- Address AI-specific security requirements (threat modeling, prompt injection mitigations, data handling controls)
- Refactor for scalability
- Create technical documentation
- Build a reusable pattern library that accelerates every subsequent solution
- Deploy AI solutions to production infrastructure
- Configure monitoring and alerting
- Establish incident response runbooks
- Manage security patching
- Serve as the named on-call owner
- Onboard new consuming teams
- Provide operational health reporting
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Skills
- Full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations)
