Senior Software Developer - Linux Networking
About the Role
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Virtual Networking team, specifically within the Card Management team. This role involves delivering a highly available and secure fleet of critical SDN infrastructure. You will become an expert in embedded Linux and help build new technologies for a distributed fleet of Linux systems. The team is focused on creating a state-of-the-art Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) network, starting from the ground up.
The Virtual Networking Team builds highly customizable Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN) and connectivity services, offering predictable and consistent performance, isolation, and availability. This is an opportunity to work on ambitious initiatives in a rapidly growing team where engineers at any level can have significant technical and business impact.
Responsibilities
- Become an expert in embedded Linux and develop deep hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Build new technologies for the distributed fleet of Linux systems, collaborating with cross-functional hardware, OS, and platform teams to test and bring up new systems.
- Improve efficiency across a fast-growing number of regions through automation.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, monitoring the fleet and associated services.
- Enhance operational capabilities by developing runbooks, alarming, and building tools.
- Work with partner teams across OCI to support their applications on the platform.
Requirements
- Duties and tasks are varied and complex, requiring independent judgment.
- Fully competent in your area of expertise; may have a project lead role or supervise lower-level personnel.
- BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area.
- 4+ years of software engineering or related experience.
Pay
Hiring range in the US: $89,200 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
