Senior Software Developer

About the role

VTG is seeking a Software Developer for a 200+ FTE technical development program supporting the Sponsor’s Entitlement Programs as well as IdAM/ICAM, Authentication, Authorization, Attributes, and Digital Policy Management. The developer will work with a large team of developers, software engineers, and data engineers to modernize and implement industry standards while ensuring secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external teams for integrations and task delivery.
• Maintain and modernize legacy applications.
• Write custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instances.
• Leverage Amazon Web Services for cloud‑based solutions.
• Create RESTful APIs.
• Develop using Spring Boot, Java, and Angular (TypeScript).
• Design and utilize custom ETL methodologies.
• Produce strong communication, design, and documentation artifacts.
• Manage workflow and time effectively.
• Perform unit testing, peer code reviews, and automated testing (e.g., Selenium – create, edit, maintain, execute).
• Work within Agile & Scrum methodologies.
• Methodically analyze technical challenges in a collaborative team environment to deliver sound solutions.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 4–10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages: Java, Spring Boot, Angular (TypeScript), and Amazon Web Services.
• Full‑stack development experience.
• Experience developing solutions that meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Selenium, and Rundeck.
• Comfort working in a command‑line environment on Red Hat Linux.
