Tyto Athene is searching for a Senior-level SOC Professional to lead and advance the SOC of our Federal client! The selected candidate will be an enthusiastic change agent who is eager to drive improvements and innovation. Responsibilities:Serve as the foremost technical authority and point of escalation regarding monitoring, detection, analysis, and incident responseBe the primary technical leader and change agent for the planning and execution of continual improvement initiatives including but not limited to: knowledge management, documentation, automation, tuning, lessons learned, QA/QC, and metricsEnsure a full library of Plans, SOPs, and playbooks exists for all SOC functionsCreate and implement a training plan to ensure all Analysts on your team have superior levels of knowledge and experience to triage and investigate all types of alertsMaintain constant awareness of the security posture of the organization versus internal and external threats, notifying stakeholders of changes, trends, and immediate threats or vulnerabilities; make recommendations to more effectively monitor, defend, and continuously improve the security posture of the organizationDefine, document, execute, measure, monitor, and improve SOC processes, paying special attention to integration points with other internal and external teamsWrite and publish after-action reviews; ensure lessons learned result in action items that are resolved and closed in a timely mannerBuild and implement a robust Cyber Threat Hunting programCorrelate and contextualize Cyber Threat Intelligence; identify actionable indicators of compromise; disseminate and make recommendations to senior leadership regarding courses of actionPlan and execute test exercises; recommend modifications or adjustments based on resultsAuthor, brief, and submit daily, weekly, and monthly status reports and other deliverables as requiredRemain abreast of current and emerging cybersecurity tools and technologiesOther duties as assigned Required:Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.Minimum of 10 years’ experience providing both security operations AND penetration testing support.Minimum 5 years’ managing and directing security operations.Responsible for the ability to implement the various phases of Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation, establishing baselines for security tools to ensure proper configuration and deployment, architecting, deploying, and maintaining security products and services, and recommending and implementing solutions for protecting data throughout its lifecycle. Certification Requirements:Mandatory certifications include BOTH of the following certifications:Certified Information System Security Professional Information Systems Security Management Professional (CISSP-ISSMP)Certified Information System Security Professional Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSP-ISSAP) Desired:Certified Network Security Engineer (CNSE) is preferred.
