As a Senior Siting Lead, you will take an active role in leading siting projects for utility clients across the country. In this role, you will provide impeccable service through quality delivery of client work and collaborate with the siting team, project managers, client account managers, and senior technical resources to contribute to the growth of our utility client portfolio. You will provide technical leadership, mentor delivery teams, direct day-to-day operations, and establish processes for continued success.
We are seeking a professional with siting experience in OK, TX, CO, MN, IN, IL, OH, MI, MO, VA, NC, GA, and/or FL. Two days per week in a Jacobs office, on-site visits, or client meetings is expected.
Responsibilities
- Lead siting projects for utility clients across the Eastern and Central U.S.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor delivery teams to develop their skills and expertise.
- Direct day-to-day delivery of the siting team and establish processes for success.
- Author siting documentation and perform consulting-related technical tasks supporting energy project development and siting.
- Manage staff and/or subcontractors for transmission line project development.
- Navigate state-level regulatory requirements and permit filings.
- Leverage existing relationships with siting specialists in utility client organizations to support project delivery.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, or civil engineering.
- A minimum of ten years of siting and route analysis experience on electric or gas transmission siting projects in the Eastern or Central U.S.
- Experience authoring siting documentation and performing consulting-related technical tasks for energy project development.
- Knowledge of at least one of the following regulatory processes: Ohio Power Siting Board, North Carolina Public Utilities Commission, Illinois Commerce Commission, Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Public Utility Commission of Texas, or Virginia State Corporation Commission for electric transmission lines.
- Existing relationships with siting specialists in utility client organizations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Renewable energy experience (preferred).
- Passion for mentoring staff to help them reach their full potential.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $111,100.00 to $173,500.00. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
