Senior Siting Lead

About the role

As a Senior Siting Lead, you will take an active role in leading siting projects for utility clients across the country. You will provide technical leadership, work with the established siting team, project managers, client account managers, and senior technical resources to contribute to the growth of our utility client portfolio. You will direct the day-to-day delivery of the siting team and establish processes and procedures for continued success. Two days per week in a Jacobs office, on-site visits, or meetings with clients is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide impeccable service to clients through quality delivery of siting projects.
• Lead siting projects for utility clients, focusing on electric or gas transmission siting in the Eastern or Central U.S.
• Author siting documentation and perform consulting-related technical tasks supporting the development and siting of energy projects.
• Perform and manage staff and/or subcontractors for the development of transmission line projects.
• Mentor and develop the skills and expertise of delivery teams.
• Maintain and build relationships with siting specialists in utility client organizations.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, or civil engineering.
• A minimum of ten years of siting and route analysis experience on electric or gas transmission siting projects in the Eastern or Central U.S.
• Experience authoring siting documentation and performing consulting-related technical tasks.
• Knowledge of at least one (or more) of the following state regulatory application processes for electric transmission lines: Ohio Power Siting Board, North Carolina Public Utilities Commission, Illinois Commerce Commission, Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Public Utility Commission of Texas, or Virginia State Corporation Commission.
• Knowledge of state-level regulatory requirements and experience with permit filings.
• Siting experience in OK, TX, CO, MN, IN, IL, OH, MI, MO, VA, NC, GA, and/or FL.
• Existing relationships with siting specialists in utility client organizations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, civil engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Renewable energy experience (preferred).
• Passion for mentoring staff to fully recognize their potential (preferred).

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $111,100.00 to $173,500.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
