Senior Site/Civil Practice Leader
About the role
Langan is seeking a Senior Site/Civil Practice Leader to join its collaborative team in San Francisco or San Jose, CA.
This individual will serve a key function in leading and supporting business development, engineering design, and related permitting efforts for a variety of multidisciplinary land development projects.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work top industry leadership in a continuous learning environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design, permitting, and execution of residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse distribution centers, and mixed-use projects for both public and private clients;
- Collaborate with office and regional leadership to develop strategic growth plans and optimize staff utilization;
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset by actively contributing to business development efforts - cultivating new client relationships for the firm and strengthening partnerships with existing clients;
- Oversee site/civil engineering efforts from concept through completion, including site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control;
- Provide technical leadership and oversight in stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, SWPPP preparation;
- Contribute to technical and proposal writing with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgment;
- Apply integrated knowledge of land development engineering, including coordination with geotechnical and environmental disciplines;
- and Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required;
- Possess a valid Professional Engineer license in California;
- 16+ years of successful, local and related site / civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on both small and large projects;
- Proven success in client development, client management, and project delivery abilities;
- Active participation in professional organizations;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment, and to mentor project and staff engineers;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
