Description
Conduct advanced signals analysis of pre-demodulated and demodulated signals; perform tradecraft discovery operations; draft intelligence reports for national-level customers
Shall perform signals analysis of collected signals and waveforms in the space domain. Processes, exploits, and disseminates intelligence derived from demodulated and pre-demodulated foreign signals to determine signal characteristics for intelligence purposes. Identify signals of interest in foreign satellite communications. Conduct advanced Signals Analysis, including but not limited to analyzing collected signals at the bit-and protocol-levels, including identifying and analyzing bitstreams (e.g., multiplexers, error correction, voice and video compression, instrumentation systems) and protocols (e.g., link layer, network layer, application layer).
Demonstrate relevant, senior-level, or higher SA experience in NSA production offices, service cryptological production elements, and/or other relevant SIGINT production agencies. Demonstrate proficiency with enterprise tools such as AutoSnap, DarkQuest, ROADBED, VINTAGEHARVEST, Waveform Viewer Tool (WVT), Data Viewer Tool (DVT), pktproc2, and pktswing to perform analytical tasks.
Perform searches within NSA SIGINT repositories using common NSA tools; develop selection and filtration criteria on target based on protocol and signal parameters; accurately document signal parameters for reporting using NSA reporting tools.
Understand signal theory (power, frequency, modulation, phase, polarity, propagation), modulation techniques (AM, FM, BPSK, FSK, QPSK, PSK, QAM, PCM), multiple access strategies (FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, DAMA), encoding/decoding transmission (physical layer), be familiar with signal technologies and standards (DVB-S2, iDirect, HughesNET, ComTech), linear recursive sequences, convolutional coding, protocol stacks, etc.
Analyze PROFORMA, spread spectrum Signals of Interest (SOIs), and perform advanced internals signals analysis. Coordinate with NSA collection organizations and signal development centers. Understand systems and processes for geolocation of ground, air, and space domain signals. Demonstrate understanding of the OSI model, standard protocols (TCP, UDP), IP subnetting, telecommunications technologies, IPv4 and IPv6 networks, and Classless Interdomain Routing (CIDR).
Requirements
Experience: Over 10 years of relevant experience.
