Senior Shopping Editor
About the role
Marie Claire US is seeking a Senior Shopping Editor with a passion for fashion, a keen eye for trends, and a knack for storytelling. Reporting to the Fashion Director, this role involves writing daily fashion pieces, creating engaging social media content, and overseeing the ShopMy initiative.
Responsibilities
- Write an average of two stories each day for our Fashion vertical, focusing on self-styling, trend identification, and a strong market edit
- Self-shoot, edit, and post 2-3 first-person videos each week on social platforms including Instagram and TikTok
- Work with the social lead to oversee ShopMy coverage on Instagram with the goal of boosting sales
- Monitor editorial, social, and affiliate performance to identify patterns and optimize future output
- Represent the brand on social media and other outward-facing media (e.g., TV appearances), in addition to attending events
Requirements
- Instincts around what feels aspirational, timely, and commercially relevant
- Familiarity with the fashion retail landscape, including luxury, contemporary, and mass market
- Distinctive fashion point of view, with the ability to translate trends into accessible shopping recommendations for the Marie Claire audience
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience managing social and editorial calendars
- Experience reviewing data to inform output
- Experience filming and editing social-first videos; knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut is a plus
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in fashion journalism or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field
- Proven track record of success in a similar role

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro and CapCut
Benefits
Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $95,000, with uncapped leave and a share of profits through a bonus program. Additional benefits include refer-a-friend rewards, well-being support, and opportunities to purchase shares in Future through the Share Incentive Plan.

Schedule
This is a hybrid role from our New York office, requiring two days in the office and three days remote. The position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement between Future US, Inc. and the Writers Guild of America East.
