Senior Service Technician (HVAC/Fire)

About This Opportunity Amos Air is growing its fire division, and we're looking for an experienced HVAC technician ready to step up into a senior, dual-discipline role covering both HVAC and mechanical fire compliance. This position suits someone with a strong HVAC background who wants to broaden into fire systems testing, inspection and compliance work, and take on greater ownership of client outcomes. You'll continue servicing HVAC equipment across a portfolio of commercial sites and build your expertise in mechanical fire systems including fire dampers, smoke exhaust, and stair pressurisation. This is a senior role with real scope: you'll be conducting tests and inspections, writing service reports, and preparing rectification quotations for failed mechanical systems. It's a genuine career pathway for someone who wants to move beyond routine servicing into compliance, diagnostics, and client-facing technical work. You'll work across a high calibre portfolio of commercial clients, including hospitals, schools, shopping centres, government buildings, and high-rise residential apartments. These sites offer complex systems, strict compliance requirements, and the chance to take real responsibility for outcomes. You Can Expect To Service, maintain and repair HVAC equipment across commercial sitesConduct testing, inspection, and compliance checks on mechanical fire systems, including smoke exhaust, stair pressurisation, fire and smoke dampers, and mechanical shutdown systemsTest and inspect pressurisation and supply air systemsPrepare detailed service reports following inspections and testingIdentify and diagnose failed mechanical systems, and prepare rectification quotationsRead and interpret drawings, schematics, fire matrices, and cause-and-effect documentationLiaise directly with clients, contractors and internal teams on findings and recommendationsRepresent the business safely and professionally across a range of commercial sites Essential We're looking for: Trade-qualified technician with a solid commercial HVAC backgroundStrong understanding of commercial mechanical systems (supply air, exhaust, ventilation, air conditioning)Sound technical and fault-finding ability, with the confidence to diagnose issues and recommend solutionsWorking knowledge of electrical systems, controls, relays and mechanical operationsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and documentationExperience or strong interest in progressing into fire systems testing and complianceAbility to write clear, accurate service reports and rectification quotationsReliable work ethic, good presentation, and a hands-on mindsetAbility to work independently and take ownership of site outcomes Highly Regarded Experience with fire and smoke systems (smoke exhaust, stair pressurisation, fire/smoke dampers)Experience with fire damper installations and testingExposure to BMS or commercial building control systemsExperience with testing, commissioning, or compliance inspectionsMechanical FPAS accreditation About Us A member of the Benmax group of companies and with a reputation built on professionalism and trust, Amos Air has spent the past 25 years building solid relationships with clients across the healthcare, business, tourism, and commercial sectors.
