About the role

The Senior Service Lead at Sunstate Equipment Co. plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the rental and delivery fleet. They collaborate with the Branch Manager and/or Service Manager to prioritize and assign repairs, perform regular maintenance, and provide training on advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to establish daily work priorities of shop and yard employees
  • Affiliate effectively with shop via huddles, meetings, and one-on-one interactions
  • Aid in key decisions regarding all major equipment repairs
  • Ensure adequate availability of essential shop supplies
  • Address equipment issues such as breakdowns, customer damage, etc.
  • Provide training on repairing various components of construction equipment
  • Conduct thorough inspections, servicing, testing, and refueling equipment
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shop environment
  • Assist with equipment support yard duties including customer assistance and occasional equipment washing or staging
  • Promptly report safety incidents/violations to Branch and/or Service Manager
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair
  • Train new mechanics
  • Maintain company vehicles in accordance with established standards

Requirements

Consistently adhere to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Possess mechanical knowledge of construction equipment. Demonstrate basic computer and typing skills. Grasp and apply new information quickly. Focus on details and complete tasks with accuracy. Read, write, and speak English. Have full range of motion, agility, and strength to lift heavy objects. Have a valid driver license and a good driving record. Minimum age of 21 years required to drive Company vehicles.

Qualifications

Full range of motion, agility, and strength to lift one's body into/out of large vehicles, trailers, equipment. Capable of normally lifting 25 lbs., frequently lifting 50 lbs., and occasionally lifting 90 lbs. with the assistance of mechanical aid or lift assistance.

Skills

Advanced troubleshooting /diagnoses and repair techniques for equipment. Demonstrated ability to repair gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drive trains to include manual and power shift transmissions on equipment and trucks. Demonstrated ability to provide training on welding techniques including electric arc ‘stick’, gas welding, and brazing.

Pay

Dependent on Experience, and discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus

Schedule

Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00PM (Overtime Eligible)
