About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ecommerce SEO specialist for a leadership position as our next Senior SEO Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity for a natural-born leader and change agent with a talent for big-picture thinking and solving problems at scale.

The ideal candidate is passionate about SEO, with the ability to create and drive technical and content SEO strategies tailored to client needs. You have previous agency experience and are ready to rise to a new level of responsibility, leading with your ideas and helping shape the future of the agency.

You are a skilled communicator who can simplify the complexities of technical SEO for clients and team members. You have a thorough understanding of the ecommerce space and possess both the hard and soft skills necessary to support respected consumer brands in their SEO goals. You are deeply invested in the success of your team and have a knack for developing junior team members.

This is a full-time, 100% remote position. While you will largely control your own hours, we request that your availability overlaps 4-5 hours with standard Eastern Time work hours.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical and content SEO strategies and communications for direct-to-consumer brands.
• Oversee the Initial Discovery Package process for clients and use results to inform ongoing SEO consulting strategies.
• Develop, analyze, and optimize Whitecap’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for peak agency efficiency.
• Coach the SEO team, review work, and synthesize analysis and results in final reporting.
• Lead by example by introducing the latest SEO trends, strategies, and best practices.
• Work closely with clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Help shape the future of the Whitecap team by developing junior SEO team members, supporting account managers in their understanding of SEO, and informing future hiring decisions.

Requirements

• Proven SEO results, including strategy development and consulting for multi-million dollar direct-to-consumer brands.
• Strong understanding of ecommerce performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition.
• Expertise in Google Analytics, including creating and sharing monthly and quarterly reports in a digestible format.
• Deep knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms.
• Experience leading a team effectively.
• Comfort with client-facing communications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Agency experience, especially in ecommerce.
• Experience with Shopify, Shopify Plus, Magento, or BigCommerce platforms.
• Development experience.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Successful track record of leading a remote team.
