Senior Semiconductor Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Owning and leading test process development for laser diode chips, bars, arrays, and assemblies.
• Serving as the technical expert for troubleshooting complex test and yield issues.
• Performing advanced data analysis to characterize performance and identify systemic issues.
• Leading validation and implementation of design changes, ensuring test readiness and process stability.
• Collaborating with R&D and Operations to guide new product introductions.
• Optimizing automated test equipment, fixtures, and software for efficiency and accuracy.
• Driving yield improvement and cost reduction initiatives through failure analysis and process enhancements.
• Promoting best practices in test methodology, SPC, and data-driven decision-making.
• Mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and reliability standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
• Extensive experience in semiconductor testing, optoelectronics, or laser diodes.
• Strong diagnostic and engineering solution skills.
• Expertise in automated test systems, data acquisition, and statistical analysis.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor physics and optical/electrical metrics.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with high-power laser diodes, photonics packaging, or reliability testing.
• Proficiency in test automation programming (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C/C++).
• Knowledge of DOE, SPC, FMEA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
