About the role

Snap Inc. is a technology company focused on the camera as a tool to improve human communication and expression. We operate Snapchat, Specs Inc., Bitmoji, Saturn, and other digital services. This role is part of the Security Programs and Compliance Engineering (SPACE) Team, driving an enterprise-wide cybersecurity framework to protect our global user base, employees, and partners. As the Senior Security Technical Program Manager, you will establish and operationalize security metrics, governance, and cross-functional execution to mature Snap’s security posture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, build, and operation of security operations and risk programs to improve cyber maturity across governance, intake, prioritization, escalation, and remediation.
  • Define and operationalize security KRIs, KPIs, and health metrics for domains such as vulnerability management, incident response, detection effectiveness, control performance, and remediation timeliness.
  • Establish a consistent measurement framework, dashboarding model, and reporting taxonomy for security leadership to review trends, identify gaps, and drive accountable action.
  • Prepare and present business reviews for security leadership, translating technical signals into clear risk narratives, decisions, and follow-up actions.
  • Build the operating cadence for security leadership, including program reviews, metric reviews, escalation forums, and quarterly planning rhythms.
  • Create a common framework for security team OKRs, including goal setting, dependency management, milestone tracking, and progress readouts.
  • Partner across Security, Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to align priorities and resolve blockers.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and remediation governance for significant operational issues, ensuring lessons learned translate into durable improvements.
  • Maintain a portfolio view of security initiatives, risks, dependencies, and commitments to support prioritization and leadership decisions.
  • Define standard methods for risk intake, issue tracking, exception handling, escalation thresholds, and verified closure.
  • Improve security operations rigor through workflow simplification, automation, and better decision support.
  • Develop executive-ready briefing materials, scorecards, and narratives to communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Monitor program performance and recommend changes to operating models, metrics, and review mechanisms to continuously raise maturity.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Depth of security experience and familiarity with a broad range of information security concepts and principles.
  • Proven experience running critical programs within a security field.
  • Experience working with engineers and driving large security projects with measurable impact.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to the audience.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders to drive security programs.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with critical judgment to audit output for integrity, performance, and security risks.
  • Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to stay at the forefront of engineering trends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in security advisory, technical program management, or security solution delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NIST CSF 2.0, NIS2, or ISO 27001.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer are a plus.

Schedule

This role follows a “default together” approach, requiring in-office work 4+ days per week.

Pay

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone determining the salary range for the position. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions, and may be negotiable within the range.

  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $190,000–$284,000 annually.
  • Zone B: $181,000–$270,000 annually.
  • Zone C: $162,000–$241,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
