About the role

The role is for a Senior Security Engineer at Giga, a San Francisco-based startup.

Responsibilities

• Own the security posture of an AI platform processing millions of sensitive enterprise interactions.
• Build security tooling, architect robust authorization systems, and tackle emerging AI-specific threats like prompt injection.
• Design and implement end-to-end application security, focusing on API integrity, role-based access controls, and robust audit logging for enterprise customers.
• Build and maintain automated security infrastructure, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and CI/CD security checks using Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with backend and infrastructure teams to embed security into the core architecture of Giga's real-time voice and chat agents.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in security engineering with a strong background in software development using Python or TypeScript.
• Proven track record of securing production cloud environments (AWS/Kubernetes) and handling sensitive enterprise data at scale.
• Proactive mindset that views security as an enabler of speed, capable of building tools that help the team ship faster and more securely.

Qualifications

• Experience with security tools and technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of security principles and practices, including threat modeling, secure coding, and incident response.
• Experience with security frameworks and standards such as OWASP, CIS Benchmarks, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Skills

• Strong understanding of cloud security, particularly in AWS and Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with security automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
