About the role

Our client, Pharmaceutical Development is seeking a Sr. Scientist to join their team. As a Sr. Scientist, you will be part of the Pharmaceutical Development team supporting laboratory-based biologics drug product development. The ideal candidate will have strong technical problem-solving, disciplined Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and the ability to communicate scientific results clearly across cross-functional partners, which will align successfully in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the setup, operation, maintenance, and routine troubleshooting of laboratory instruments; support method development and draft related procedures, reports, SOPs, and best-practice documentation.
  • Independently execute assigned experiments and, as experience permits, plan or lead smaller, well-defined studies supporting phase-appropriate formulation and drug product process development.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, identify trends or atypical results, draw scientifically supported conclusions, and recommend next steps within defined project parameters; escalate complex issues as appropriate.
  • Draft study plans, development reports, technical memos, and other scientific documentation with review from more experienced colleagues or management as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with project management, quality assurance, analytical, R&D, non-clinical, manufacturing, and external partners to support development activities, technology transfer, and clinical material production.

Requirements

  • Experience with LC and iCiEF is required.
  • Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art bioanalytical methods and characterization in a biologics drug product laboratory, including UPLC or HPLC (SEC, RP, HIC, IEX/CEX, CAD preferred), charge variant analysis, particle analysis, CE-SDS, and other physical-property characterization.
  • Strong understanding of biochemical and physical properties of therapeutic biologics (proteins and related modalities) and commonly used protein quantification and characterization approaches.
  • Ability to analyze testing results, recognize trends and out-of-trend or atypical data, and summarize findings with scientifically supported conclusions and recommendations within defined parameters.
  • Strong technical writing skills and demonstrated Good Documentation Practices (GDP) with disciplined laboratory record keeping in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment.

Benefits

  • Work on meaningful, laboratory-based biologics drug product development using modern analytical instrumentation and methods.
  • Build confidence by executing experiments independently and contributing to study planning and optimization as you grow.
  • Strengthen your scientific communication by drafting clear study documentation and presenting results and recommendations to the project team.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to support development activities, technology transfer, and clinical material production.
  • Join a fast-paced team environment where you can prioritize multiple work items and drive progress with accuracy and efficiency.
