The Senior Scientist, Pharmacology at Arbor Biotechnologies™ will be responsible for:
- Leading pharmacology strategies, designs, and execution for neuroscience gene-editing programs
- Interpreting in vivo gene editing data, including molecular biology and histology results
- Managing up to two research associates, offering scientific guidance, prioritizing tasks, and supporting their professional growth
- Preparing study reports and summaries for regulatory filings
- Overseeing contracted research organizations (CROs) to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables
This role requires:
- A PhD or equivalent degree in Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Genetic Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field
- 2-5 years of industry experience in designing, managing, and interpreting in vivo pharmacology studies for neuroscience indications
- Experience with AAV-based therapeutic programs
- Expertise in molecular readouts, such as DNA-, RNA-, and/or protein-based assays
- Experience overseeing outsourced studies and collaborating with CRO partners
- Ability to manage or mentor junior scientists or research associates
- Experience preparing study reports or summaries for regulatory filings
- Strong planning, organization, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with gene editing and/or ALS therapeutic programs
- Non-human primate biodistribution studies and/or IND-enabling studies experience
- Histology experience, including ISH and/or IHC
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and conduct in vivo pharmacology studies for neuroscience gene-editing programs
- Analyze and interpret in vivo gene editing data
- Manage and mentor junior scientists or research associates
- Prepare study reports and summaries for regulatory filings
- Collaborate with CRO partners to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables
Required qualifications include:
- PhD or equivalent degree in relevant field
- Industry experience in neuroscience pharmacology
- Experience with AAV-based therapies
- Expertise in molecular assays
- Experience with CRO oversight
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Regulatory filing preparation experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred qualifications include:
- Gene editing and/or ALS therapeutic experience
- Non-human primate biodistribution studies
- Histology experience
