Position Summary
The Senior Scientist will join a team of imaging scientists focused on novel preclinical imaging for drug development. The role is responsible for MRI strategy, study design, execution, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation, collaborating with biologists, chemists, clinicians, regulatory, statisticians, and other scientists across therapeutic areas. The candidate will participate as a member of discovery and/or development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure daily operation of MRI scanners and quality of MRI studies in animals.
- Implement and develop state‑of‑the‑art MRI acquisition protocols and studies.
- Establish complex image analysis and image processing pipelines.
- Manage projects and studies in various areas (e.g., oncology, neuroscience, cardiovascular).
- Apply scientific and technical skills to conduct experiments and research in the assigned area.
- Adapt standard methods and techniques using breadth of knowledge and prior experience.
- Make decisions that impact the work group or project team.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives or development of new approaches/technologies.
- Present information clearly in small, multidisciplinary meetings.
- Represent the department or function on program/project teams or sub‑teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of academic and/or industry experience, or
- Master’s degree with 5+ years of academic and/or industry experience, or
- Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences with 2+ years of academic and/or industry experience.
- Extensive experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and imaging analysis.
- Proven hands‑on experience in animal imaging.
- Thorough knowledge of MRI (or a specialized aspect) and familiarity with related imaging modalities.
- Proficiency in scientific/technical writing (e.g., regulatory documents, protocols).
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Sound knowledge of chemistry and biology for imaging studies in drug discovery (preferred).
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, and preferably Bruker Paravision programming.
Pay
Princeton, NJ – US: $123,670 – $149,855 base salary for full‑time employees, with eligibility for discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities.
