Senior Science Technician

About the role

To be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of resources under the guidance and supervision of Teaching staff whilst ensuring that all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Support the work of the Science Teachers and students in the academy's laboratories and classrooms where necessary.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and resources.
• Maintain and organize laboratory space to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.

Requirements

• Experience in a similar role, ideally within a school environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to laboratory settings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills to liaise with teachers and students.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Science or equivalent.
• Advanced level of knowledge in at least one of the science subjects taught in the academy.

Skills

• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly in a laboratory setting.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
