Senior Scheduler
About the role
The Schedulers shall: Conduct Critical Path Method ("CPM") Schedule Management to support the client’s capital program and handle design, construction, and design-build CPM schedules. Attend project kick-off meetings and discuss schedule submissions and CPM scheduling requirements. Meet with client C&D's project management teams to discuss schedules and recommendations. Review and issue reports on CPMs with detailed comments for baseline schedules and recommendations. Facilitate planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., agency owners, user departments, contractors) to outline execution strategies and identify work packages and tasks. Create and maintain project and program schedules during all phases of capital projects. Provide strong technical and problem-solving skills. Review, summarize, and report on CPM baseline schedules and make recommendations, considering timelines, logic ties, sequence of construction and phasing, resources and resource histograms, and costs. Review monthly CPM updates and provide the following reports: - Primavera schedule comparison reports that include recommendations for improvement for schedule logic, duration changes, and general schedule quality. - Critical Path (Longest Path) and Float Path analysis based on monthly schedule updates. - Monthly reports highlighting changes in logic ties, activity timelines, calendars, any deviation from the baseline construction schedules, added/deleted activities, phasing, resources and resource histograms, and costs, including recommendations and comments. - Earned Value ("EV") Reports based on EV analysis. - Monthly Time Delay Reports, identifying the root cause of delays, and responsible parties, with recommendations for improvement. - Provide monthly updates of Project Management Schedule that capture the project delivery lifecycle with project team input. Schedule and attend design, construction, and project progress meetings. Conduct field visits for ongoing construction projects. Recommend hypothetical scenario schedules and review recovery and mitigation schedules. Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to assess schedule risks and mitigation options to provide risk analysis. Develop subject matter training material to train schedulers, project controllers, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Produce samples of work to demonstrate knowledge of scheduling analysis and writing ability when requested. Other related work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, transportation, construction or project management.
- Proficient with Oracle-Primavera P6 Cloud/P6 EPPM
- Strong project management and coordination skills and adherence to scope, budget and schedule
- Proficient with the MS Suite of products
- Knowledge of Power BI is preferred but not required
- Scheduled Professional and Project Management Professional certifications (preferred but not required)
- A minimum of 7 years of related experience in a large, multi-faceted organization
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in:
- - Design and construction (Experience in a railroad environment is preferred but not required)
- - Project schedule and CPM techniques
- - Construction methods and standards
- - Basic civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering principles
