Senior Scheduler
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Scheduler to support multiple project schedules in Primavera P6 for biotech or pharmaceutical capital projects. This hybrid role is based in the San Francisco/Bay Area and involves developing, managing, and optimizing schedules for a portfolio of projects, including civil, structural, mechanical, process piping, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, automation systems, commissioning & validation, regulatory, and product commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Develop baseline schedules with a quality critical path, ensuring compliance with corporate and department requirements.
- Perform schedule updates, variance analysis to baseline, and lookahead schedules.
- Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
- Monitor schedule deviations and variances, and assist in developing corrective actions.
- Maintain records of scope changes, trends, and variances that may affect schedule performance.
- Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project team.
- Analyze and process project change orders for schedule impacts.
- Produce detailed critical path network schedules within a standard work breakdown structure.
- Analyze schedules submitted in various software packages, primarily Primavera P6, and ensure credibility of schedule information.
- Review schedules with project team members regularly to incorporate accurate and timely data.
- Analyze schedules from A/E firms and general contractors, verifying integrity and evaluating logic and float paths.
- Evaluate activity sequences for constructability and recommend adjustments to manage float and re-sequence activities.
- Work with the conceptual estimating department to support funding requests with conceptual schedules.
- Manage and support the schedule update process, performing what-if scenarios and advanced schedule analysis.
- Summarize schedule status in narratives and create reports and presentations for management.
- Act as the schedule lead, facilitate scheduling meetings, and produce schedule reports.
- Support the development of schedule-related processes, procedures, and training.
- Perform schedule risk analysis to anticipate conflicts between trades and define levels of uncertainty.
- Frequent field visits required during construction.
Requirements
- Experience with multiple large-scale complex projects ($500MM+), including cGMP biotech or pharmaceutical capital projects.
- Greenfield and large capital project experience required (from design through commissioning).
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Primavera P6.
- Advanced knowledge in the construction of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Experience with field planning and progressing.
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated team spirit and dedication to team success.
- 10+ years of relevant construction experience and 5+ years of Primavera experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Certification from PMI or AACE is beneficial.
