Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules and various baselines
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and ongoing analysis of network logic
- Resource/cost loading for all project schedules
- Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend workarounds
- Suggest mitigation of risks affecting project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations
- Utilize Primavera P6 software to communicate and advise the project team on corrective actions when necessary
- Schedule Baseline Creation and Maintenance: Generate and update project baseline schedules using Primavera P6 and Critical Path Methodology
- Maintain additional baselines as the project moves forward
- Cost and Resource Loading: Ensure all schedules include resource and cost data
- Network Logic Analysis and Validation: Perform ongoing analysis and validation of network logic to ensure it aligns with project team intent and standard guidelines
- Remove unnecessary dependencies that could affect total float calculations and project criticality
- Periodic Progress Updates: Conduct weekly and monthly updates for schedules in progress by gathering necessary data from various resources, such as Project Managers, Superintendents, financial controller, EVM analyst and other members of the project team
- Performance Reporting: Generate weekly/monthly project performance reports, including Critical Activities Reports, Baseline Deviation Reports, Earned Value Performance Index Reports, and Commodity Curves
- Reporting includes writing a monthly Schedule Narrative
- Perform CPI/SPI calculations using earned value principles
- Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
Qualifications
- 8-10 years’ experience in scheduling construction projects
- BS degree with an emphasis in Engineering or Construction Management - or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working on large overhead transmission line and substation projects is a preference
- Extensive engineering and construction experience, preferably with respect to substation and transmission construction (A preference, but not required)
